Meet Kevin & Mia Moutray
Kevin and Mia Moutray are deeply entrenched in Vanderhoof life. In addition to helping run the couple’s store, Kevin is a Vanderhoof city council member. The couple and their children are involved in numerous local activities and they are avid outdoor lovers. This is one of the reasons they decided to open their outer-wear and outdoors specialty store and they are well-suited for the retail niche. The family enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking, paddling and jet boating. They are also involved in local Search and Rescue.
Kevin and Mia love outfitting other locals for their favorite outdoor pursuits, and they are proud of the business that they’ve been able to build in spite of the unique challenges that face retailers in smaller communities like Vanderhoof. They credit much of their success to their committed and loyal Vanderhoof customers. Thanks to their support, Kevin and Mia are always quick to give back. They give to many local sporting organizations and clubs, 4-H and First Nations events. They also regularly supply equipment to various public events in Vanderhoof.
Quality. Service. Value.
Kevin and Mia Moutray say that Vanderhoof has always had a culture of supporting small local businesses. They’ve certainly found that to be true of their own store, Earthen Ware. They note that, thanks to their customers, they recently expanded the size of their store and increased their inventory.
Earthen Ware carries a “big city” lineup of brand name outerwear which includes Helly Hansen, Carhartt, the North Face, Merrell and Timberland. The store also carries footwear in names like Red Wing Shoes, Crocs, Baffin and Terra. Kevin and Mia are proud to be able to bring quality clothing to the Vanderhoof community and look forward to continued growth in the upcoming years.
